World T20: England thrash New Zealand to reach final

England are into the World Twenty20 final after a seven-wicket win over New Zealand. They reached the victory target with more than two overs to spare, thanks largely to Jason Roy’s 78 off just 44 deliveries. England captain, Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field first and his side restricted the Black Caps to 153-8, with Ben Stokes taking 3-26. In response, England were cruising towards their victory target, with Roy and Alex Hales anchoring the innings. Two wickets in succession, followed by Morgan going for a second golden duck of the tournament, gave the Kiwi’s hope. However, Joe Root and Jos Buttler finished the innings in style, as England secured their place in Sunday’s final with 17 balls remaining. They’ll now face the winner of today’s semi-final between hosts India and the West Indies.
