Real Madrid thrashed Espanyol 6-0 in La Liga, with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way with a hat-trick. It was another dominant display by Real in coach Zinedine Zidane's third game in charge. The result leaves them in third place- four points behind leaders Barcelona and one point behind Atletico Madrid. Elsewhere, Valencia lost 1-0 at home to Sporting Gijon, while Sevilla registered a 3-1 win over bottom-side Levante.
