Manchester United's De Gea misses transfer deadline

NULL

Reports suggest that David de Gea’s move from Manchester United to Real Madrid has collapsed because the paperwork wasn’t submitted in time. A deal had been agreed between the clubs that would see de Gea join Madrid for AED 102 million. As part of the package, Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas was due to move the other way to Old Trafford in a deal valued at AED 62 million. De Gea has yet to play for United in the new campaign, with manager Louis van Gaal saying the Madrid link had affected him. The 24-year-old has just a year left on his contract, and so could move for free at the end of the season.
