Five hikers stranded on a mountain in Hatta have been rescued by Dubai Police in coordination with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

The hikers had become trapped by hazardous terrain and were unable to safely descend.

The rescue operation involved two air ambulance staff, two pilots and a navigator from Dubai Police’s Air Wing.

A helicopter equipped with a hoist lowered paramedics to the hikers' location. After confirming their safety and providing support, it was deemed hospital treatment was not required.

Mishal Julfar, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, praised the teamwork between the ambulance service and police, highlighting the operation’s success in difficult conditions. He noted that the collaboration is especially important as Hatta sees a rise in visitors during the "Hatta Winter Festival".

Pilot Colonel Khalfan Salem Al Mazroui, Acting Director of the Air Wing Centre, explained the operation began after receiving a distress call and reminded the public to contact 999 for emergencies or use the “SOS” feature on the Dubai Police app in critical situations.
