via WAM

The Ajman Transport Authority (ATA) announced the implementation of an open, contactless payment system on public buses. The system allows passengers to make payments easily and securely using bank cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and wearable devices such as smart watches.

The system facilitates easier transportation while improving the user experience.

Smart payment devices have now been installed on all public transport buses. The service has been activated on internal routes, with plans to expand it to include external routes in the coming period.

The Masar Travel smart app has also been developed, enabling passengers to plan their trips, track bus locations in real time, link their bank cards, and view their trip history. This will enhance the public transport experience and support the emirate's digital transformation.

The project includes an advanced system for calculating fares based on zones and stops. The system provides complete monitoring of all transactions and generates system performance reports, as well as administrative and operational reports, including revenue and financial reports.

The project also includes a driver scheduling feature to ensure efficient workflow, a ticket inspection system for monitoring and quality control purposes, and a bus pick-up and drop-off feature to ensure smooth and safe operations.

The system also provides the ability to log in and out using various channels, enhancing user convenience. It also allows users to distribute revenues among different transportation categories, such as public buses, on-demand buses, and abras, thus contributing to the efficient organization of financial transactions.
