Abu Dhabi has unveiled an initiative aimed at attracting superyacht owners and high-net-worth individuals to invest in and explore the emirate.

The 'Golden Quay to Abu Dhabi' initiative offers eligible yacht owners the chance to be nominated for a 10-year UAE Golden Visa, providing long-term residency and access to Abu Dhabi's dynamic business ecosystem, lifestyle and world-class marinas.

Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT), emphasized that the scheme reflects the emirate’s commitment to enhancing its luxury tourism and yachting sector.

He said that by offering seamless access to marinas and exclusive opportunities like the Golden Visa, Abu Dhabi is solidifying its appeal as a premier yachting destination, in line with its Tourism Strategy 2030.

The initiative is open to yacht owners with vessels measuring at least 40 metres, as well as key figures in the yachting industry, such as CEOs and major yacht-building company shareholders, as well as central yacht agents, yacht service providers and yacht insurance providers.

Immediate family members of nominees are also eligible. Yas Marina and Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) will serve as the official nominating entities.

DCT Abu Dhabi will promote the initiative across key tourism markets, supporting partners with tailored itineraries and providing tourism-related assistance to nominee visits.

Hareb Al Mheiri, Executive Director of ADIO, highlighted the initiative’s role in connecting investors with the emirate’s investment opportunities and its thriving business ecosystem.

Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, added that Yas Marina’s world-class facilities are set to help make the initiative a success, further establishing the marina as a global entertainment and leisure hub.
