Abu Dhabi launches smart centre to monitor social distancing in shops

Authorities in Abu Dhabi are turning to artificial intelligence and high-end technology to ensure that businesses are complying with social distancing rules.

The Department of Economic Development has launched a smart emergency control room to monitor sales outlets in real-time.

The centre is equipped with a live camera system that is operated 24/7 by a dedicated inspection team.

It will help officials identify violations in real-time and also quickly follow up on customer complaints.

The center is equipped with a smart live camera system that is operated 24/7 by a dedicated inspection team in order to monitor adherence to precautions such as social distancing and compliance with specified store capacity.
