Woman snubbed of immigrant status in Quebec

A women has been denied immigrant status in the Canadian province of Quebec after failing to prove that she was adequate in French.

It's believed that Emilie Dubois, who is a French citizen, was also rejected because a section of her university thesis was in English.

The 32-year-old moved to Quebec from France seven years ago.

She then went on to complete a doctorate at a French-language university in Quebec.
