North Korea said it will not offer anything for US President Donald Trump to brag about without receiving anything in return.

North Korea's former First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim Kye Gwan, issued a statement on Monday through state-run media, urging an end to what it called a policy of hostility if the US wanted dialogue.

"If the US does not really want to let go of its dialogue with us, it should make a decision to withdraw its hostile policy of viewing us as an enemy," the statement read.

It added that the country isn't interested in a summit that is "useless to itself".

It comes after Trump took to Twitter on Sunday, urging the North Korean leader to "act quickly and get the deal done. See you soon!"
