Just a day after hundreds of thousands of anti-government demonstrators rallied peacefully in Hong Kong, the Asian financial hub is gearing for more protests this week.

According to the rally's organisers, an estimated 1.7 million people turned up for Sunday's protest, and several demonstrations are being lined up for the week, with another strike planned in districts across the city.

In its 11th week, Hong Kongers are opposing the controversial extradition bill and demanding more democratic rights.

More than 700 people have been arrested since the protests began in June.
