Dubai Municipality have sent out a circular to consultancy offices and construction companies informing them of new building regulations.

They say construction companies in Dubai can now issue building permits for a site before a contractor is appointed.

Building permits will now be issued immediately after the approval of the transactions and payment of licence fees.

However, construction cannot start on a project site unless a contractor is appointed.
